Climate change is a growing global threat and challenge. Dependence on fossil fuels and non-renewable resources has increased our overall carbon footprint.
We face a global climate crisis, and all countries in the world need to take responsibility for our collective future.
Despite greater access to clean energy and awareness of the economic viability of sustainable development, the current impact of climate change continues to deteriorate. Thus, business leaders, basing on international law, must systematically plan how to cope with emerging challenges in an ever-changing economic, political, and environmental situation.
There is a need to restore international trust and unite efforts to keep to the 1.5 degrees pledge and build climate-resilient communities.
Climate change poses significant risks to all areas of the economy, to the entire world, there are no exceptions. It significantly affects the value of investors' assets.
Climate change is a threat the world has never faced before, and it is our job to prepare protection the world has never had before.
The discussion session will include the following questions:
- The role of climate change in the global transformation of the economic model;
- Analysis of regulatory initiatives on climate change in the Russian Federation;
- Development of the Carbon Market in the Russian Federation;
- The new report of the United Nations, Our Common Agenda;
- Preparations for the 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Egypt in November 2022.
