ECUMENE 2025

In 2025, for the fifth time in the history of the Ecumene Global Forum, a series of international business events will take place, aimed at fostering long-term partnerships, expanding markets for responsible producers, and exchanging innovative solutions.

The key events will be held in person and will be available for online viewing on the official Ecumene website:

  • Official event on microplastic pollution management approaches – May 7 in Geneva, Switzerland, on the sidelines of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions.
  • Specialized sessions on water resource conservation and ecosystem-based solutions – May 29–31 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on the sidelines of the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Preservation.
  • Discussion sessions – November 10–21 in Belem, Brazil, on the sidelines of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

About

The Ecumene Global Forum is the only specialized platform in Russia supported by the United Nations since 2021, created to foster a global dialogue involving a broad range of high-level international experts in sustainable development. The Forum’s outcomes are annually presented at the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC. Since its inception, the Forum has hosted discussions with over 500 experts from more than 40 countries, and event broadcasts have been viewed by more than 1.5 million people.

One of the key focus areas of the Forum is the development of international cooperation in the context of environmental and climate agendas, including through direct dialogue between representatives of Russian and international business and expert communities.

In 2024, under the auspices of Ecumene, off-site sessions were held with the participation of representatives of the Russian business community at the Palais des Nations — The United Nations Office at Geneva, meetings in China on the energy transition, as well as roundtable discussions in Baku on the sidelines of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The Forum’s Mission is to include Russia’s position in the global agenda of sustainable development.
