Technology today plays a key role in the development of society. In turn, ever-growing needs of industries require significant acceleration of the transition of scientific achievements from the category of knowledge to economic utility. Even with increase of government funding for science and R&D, the existing chains of knowledge and technology transfer in economic turnover need significant modification. This problem is key for formation and development of the knowledge economy. How to build chains of transfer of scientific knowledge into economic turnover? What are the key barriers to this? How to create a space of trust between science, business and government? What kind of personnel should develop knowledge economy and how should educational programmes be shaped?
