We are at a critical moment of building global cooperation on climate change.
In recent years, the concept of the Paris Climate Agreement has become mainstream. We are seeing a huge increase in commitments by individual countries to achieve carbon neutrality. The challenge of climate change requires maximum cooperation between governments, the business community, the financial sector and civil society.
Thousands of the world's major companies, businesses, and financial institutions are setting their own carbon neutrality goals by developing decarbonization plans.
We see that achieving carbon neutrality is an organizing principle that cascades from the global level through governments to private business, individual companies, and civil society.
The energy transition is one of the most important components in combating the issue of climate change. In the next ten to fifteen years, we will face a new industrial and commercial transformation; much of this transformation will have to be done innovatively and differently.
The discussion session will include the following questions:
- Transformation of key sectors of the global economy;
- Changing supply chains;
- Transition strategies for the gas, mining, energy, and nuclear industries;
- The role of business in sustainable urban development and social wellbeing;
- Strategy for the Russian Federation to achieve carbon neutrality.
