Outside the Moscow, in Krasnogorsk the Environmental Forum of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Nature was hosted.
It is never superfluous to discuss environmental issues. Environmental protection is always at the top of the daily agenda. This time too, experts, officials, community leaders and volunteers gathered at the EcoForum to talk about the most important things.
The opening of the Interregional Environmental Forum ‘Sustainable Development: New Trends and Global Challenges’ was attended by Viacheslav Fetisov, Chairman of the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation, UN Goodwill Ambassador, and Andrey Vorobyov, Governor of the Moscow Region.
- The All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation, uniting the environmental agenda of the Russian Federation, sets global development tracks for the next 30 years, said Viacheslav Fetisov in his welcoming speech. - We are beginning to form a new United Nations Development Goals for 2030-2050. UNEP is the oldest environmental organization in our country, it will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2024, and it is important for us to continue protecting the unique nature, ecology and biodiversity of our country and to build long-term global trends.
At the same time Fetisov expressed confidence that without the well-being of Russia universal sustainable development is unattainable, and only together, by joint efforts we can achieve harmony in the relationship between human and our amazing nature.
‘We are interested in preserving nature, preventing its damage, implementing the most modern technologies. Everything to do with cleanliness, waste disposal - you know how difficult it was to instill this culture, - said Andrei Vorobyov. - Rivers, ponds, lakes - we have a lot of holidaymakers there, especially in summertime. That's why we adopted the programme for their cleaning. But the main task is not to clean, the task is to prevent discharges.’
All those interested in reliable information about implementation of programmes and projects in the spheres of SMW handling and environmental protection, corporate environmental responsibility and activities of civil eco-activists were invited for discussion.
There are platforms: Solid municipal waste management, Liquidation of accumulated damage, struggle against violators of environmental legislation, Public control and environmental education system.
Also, all guests and participants of the forum got acquainted with the technologies used by Russian companies and organizations in the field of environmental protection.
