The High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation was held from 29 to 31 May 2025 in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan. Its purpose was to highlight the vital role of glaciers in maintaining global ecological balance and addressing water-related challenges. As part of the Conference, an official Ecumene side event was held on 29 May at the Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University.

Both discussions were moderated by Evgeny Khilinskiy, Vice President, Gazprombank (Joint-Stock Company). Speakers included representatives of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as international organizations, including the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).
The discussions addressed sustainable water resource management, prevention of water scarcity, conservation of Central Asian ecosystems, and the prospects for developing carbon markets as an instrument for financing environmental and climate projects in the region.
